The Music

The three musicians from Bulgaria, the U.S.A. and Turkey originally met to study odd-time rhythms. From that came a gold mine that constantly yields new ideas and musical impulses.

Orientet combines the old music of Turkey and Bulgaria with jazz and improvisation elements. With attention to the fine details, the acoustic trio plays a kind chamber music that is very entertaining. The musical focus is on listening, alert interplay and communication.

The program features traditional Oriental pieces alternating with new compositions of Gary Barone.
